Great trees often “make the place” by framing, accentuating and balancing the view of a house or building, and shading is certainly a bonus here in Texas. But in this case, the few remaining trees on the property have started the slow process of foundation damage.
But again, who would even notice – the house has been gently wrapped by trees and shrubs for years. In the summer the look is lush and cooling as the roots drink moisture at the base of the house. In winter the trees seem to disappear leaving the rock house exposed.
The work to save the structure has begun.
